Construction - Skills shortage in the construction industry - SantanderCB

The Step Up Into Construction partnership, a Yorkshire-based initiative aimed at tackling the skills shortage in the construction industry, has received a £1m funding boost. The England European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the Construction Industry Training Board have each granted the project £500,000. The partnership is an alliance of local councils, education providers, housing associations, careers advisors, social enterprise groups, training boards and public sector departments. It will address the skills shortage by helping people to access work placements and training opportunities.
