Viva Brazil Expands Restaurant Portfolio Following Major Funding Deal from Santander

Liverpool-based Viva Brazil Ltd (“Viva Brazil”), the award-winning Brazilian-style Steakhouse chain, has expanded its portfolio of restaurants with the opening of a new site on Grey Street in Newcastle, following a six figure funding deal with Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Established in 2010 with its first outlet in Liverpool, Viva Brazil has over the past four years launched two other restaurants in Cardiff and Glasgow. Along with the new Newcastle site, the group is also planning to open a further restaurant in Birmingham later this year. The unique, traditional Brazilian style is behind the success of the business which is established around the ‘Churrascaria’ ethos of the Brazilian Steak House.

The funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial has assisted with the establishment and fitting out of the new £750k restaurant in the centre of Newcastle, in the city’s prime leisure district. The opening puts Viva Brazil on track to reach its initial target of having five branches by the end 2015, with further ones planned in 2016 and beyond in major UK cities and towns.

Andy Aldrich, Owner and Managing Director, Viva Brazil Ltd, said: “Viva Newcastle is our most ambitious project to date and marks a significant milestone in our chain’s history. We are now trading in four excellent locations, suitable for business and leisure users, with further expansion planned in the near future.”

Philip Roscoe, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, added: “Viva Brazil is a great success story in the UK leisure sector and it’s brilliant to see the business able to successfully grow in what is a competitive market. The firm’s rapid growth is a testament to its unique and exciting style. We are delighted to support it as it looks to build on these achievements and expand further.”
