Used car sales up

A report from BCA, Europe's largest used vehicle marketplace, and the University of Birmingham's centre for automotive management has revealed that sales of second-hand cars rose by 5.6% last year to a record £45.1bn. There were 7.2m motors changing hands as car ownership rose to 75% of households from 69% the previous year. Combined sales with new cars reached 9.7m, as £88.5bn was spent.
