UK student housing investment to hit £5.75bn this year

Investment in the UK student housing sector has passed £3.8bn in the first six months of 2015 and is on course to hit a record £5.75bn by year end, according to figures released by JLL. The second quarter of 2015 saw £1.6bn transacted in the sector, a 126% increase on the same period last year, with headline deals including the Westbourne, Nido and AUB portfolios and the sale of Assam Place in London. JLL has seen particularly strong interest from Russian, Canadian and US investors in the UK housing sector this year.
