The UK is officially worth £7.6 trillion, ONS decides

The Office for National Statistics has valued the UK's housing stock at £4.7trn, helping boost the UK's value as a whole to £7.6trn for 2013. This works out at an average of £119,000 per person and 4% ahead of a year earlier. The housing stock's valuation was more than three times the 1997 estimate of £1.4trn.
