Toy maker growth is child's play

Toy maker Kids@Play is addressing increasing demand with a new distribution centre. The opening of the new Caerphilly site follows a £425,000 trade finance and funding facility from Santander Corporate & Commercial. The Chepstow-based producer of TV-themed toys is also investing in its manufacturing base in China to meet established orders and growing demand in new markets such as Australia. Established in 2005 by local entrepreneur Malcolm Evans, Kids@Play specialises in outdoor toys and battery-powered vehicles. The firm was recently awarded a licence from ITV to make a range of Thunderbirds products and has also produced Shaun The Sheep promotional items.
