Tour operator swoops for Scottish company

Family - Travel company has acquired fife-based Brightwater Holidays - SantanderCB

Salisbury-based travel company Specialist Journeys has acquired Fife-based Brightwater Holidays, backed by a funding package from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Brightwater Holidays offers a variety of horticultural and special interest holidays.

Specialist Journeys operates four tour companies providing guided small-group tours in history, archaeology and wine experiences, led by professionals and scholars.

Ian Finlay, chief executive of Specialist Journeys, said: 'We are delighted to start a new partnership with Santander and to have their support both domestically and internationally as we grow the business'.

Carmen Peacock, structured finance, Santander Corporate & Commercial, commented: 'Specialist Journeys is a leading provider of travel experiences and we are delighted to support them in implementing their strategy'.
