Stagnant growth raises spectre of recession across eurozone
Europe is preparing for a gloomy set of economic figures this week that are expected to highlight the threat of recession. Economists polled by Reuters believe that the eurozone's meagre 0.1% expansion in the second quarter will be matched in the third quarter, whilst Germany's 0.2% contraction in Q2 will be improved on with 0.1% growth. France is expected to have notched up 0.2% growth while Italy is estimated to have shrunk slightly again. Spain is expected to buck the trend with more positive numbers.
