South Wales tanks deal

Engineering - Surge in automotive and engineering investment in South Wales - SantanderCB

A recent surge in automotive and engineering investment in South Wales has been further bolstered by the Ministry of Defence's announcement that it will turn a disused forklift truck factory in Merthyr Tydfil into an assembly, integration and testing centre for the 589 Ajax tanks being produced for the British Army by General Dynamics. The decision will create 250 skilled jobs from next year, and follows the news that Aston Martin and TVR are to build sports cars at a former RAF base in St Athan, Glamorgan.
