Business owners across South Yorkshire and the Humber have the opportunity to better understand how to grow their business as the SCCB Breakthrough Moments Box comes to Sheffield.
The Breakthrough Moments Box, which is located near Sheffield Cathedral on Church Street, is a versatile space for people to meet and share ideas and expertise with a range of stakeholders, including Microsoft, The Cutlers’ Company, UKTI, Sheffield County Council, and Creative Sheffield. On Wednesday 24 June, for example, Daniel Langton from Microsoft delivered an interactive session aimed at business owners/ managing directors who believe that technology should be used strategically to drive a business forward and help achieve their aspirations.
A session on Thursday 25 June will see Sue Douthwaite, Retail Divisional Managing Director for Santander, give further insights into Santander’s support for women in SMEs. Joining Sue will be Julie Kenny, Chairwoman and Chief Executive of award-winning Pyronix in Rotherham. Julie qualified as a litigation lawyer before giving it all up in 1986 to work full-time for Pyronix after she had built-up the business in her spare time by using equity from the sale of her home. In 2013 she was named Businesswoman of the Year. A full breakdown of the events and further information can be found at http://www.santandercb.co.uk/content/sheffield-breakthrough-box-live-event.
With exports and international trade a major focus for businesses in the UK, the Box will contain Santander Corporate & Commercial’s International Trade desk. Visitors will be able to use and experience the Santander Trade Portal, a unique online tool that allows businesses to discover and better understand which global markets provide the biggest opportunity for their business – and how to enter those markets. The Box will also showcase Santander’s Growth Capital lending programme, aimed specifically at helping business owners and entrepreneurs to fast-track growth.
Jonathan Thompson, Regional Director – South Yorkshire and the Humber, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “I’m pleased that we can bring this great event to the centre of Sheffield and therefore to the South Yorkshire region as a whole. We believe business owners and local entrepreneurs will find real value in coming along and listening to best-practice ideas about how to grow their businesses.
