Santander moves in on city with corporate business unit

Santander Corporate & Commercial recently opened a new corporate business centre in Aberdeen, adding to a growing network of corporate business centres throughout the UK and marking the next stage of Santander's growth in the city. The Aberdeen operation is led by Graham Silcock, Santander Corporate & Commercial regional director for Scotland. The 14-strong team has taken shape over the past two years as Santander has grown its presence in the key energy centre of Aberdeen. The latest recruits to the Aberdeen centre are relationship directors Dave Walker and Stuart Thorn. Plans for further additions to the team include an international trade director to boost local access to Santander's global network and expertise. Graham Silcock said: 'The energy sector continues to have an outstanding impact on the city and the wider economy, and we are delighted to be able to support businesses across the region from our new corporate business centre'. Santander now has Scottish corporate business centres in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow employing more than 80 people. Santander said the expansion of its corporate business centre network coincided with average 20% annual growth in its lending to UK businesses.
