Apprenticeship - Technology playing a greater role in business - SantanderCB

Santander Launches First Degree Level Apprenticeships

Santander is marking the start of National Apprenticeship Week by launching its first ever Degree level Professional Apprenticeships at the Apprenticeship Show taking place this week in Milton Keynes.

With technology playing an ever greater role in business in general and banking in particular, it is vital for companies to invest in developing their employees’ digital skills. One of the ways in which the bank is meeting this challenge is by launching this apprenticeship programme across its technology and operations division.
The bank is searching for 20 candidates to complete a four year apprenticeship which will result in a Degree in Digital and Technology Solutions. The roles will be based in Milton Keynes and Leicester, with Santander looking for candidates with a passion for technology and innovation.

Iain Gallagher, Senior Manager of Early in Careers at Santander, said:

“We recognise that people follow many different employment paths and the extension of our apprenticeship programme to Degree Level provides yet another route into a banking career.
“We want to attract talented people from all walks of life, and joining as an apprentice gives people the chance to earn and learn at the same time. Studying for a degree while developing their career has strong appeal to candidates who want to quickly gain professional experience and this new programme is a great opportunity for anyone looking to build digital skills.”
Santander was judged one of the 25 Best Big Companies to Work for by the Sunday Times, and in 2015 was listed by RateMyApprenticeship.co.uk as one of their Top 60 Employers, based on over 2,500 reviews from school leavers.
