Santander continues to support UK businesses as biggest FLS net lender in Q3

Santander UK was the biggest net lender to UK businesses during third quarter of 2014, with total net lending to SMEs and corporates increasing by £332m, according to the latest Funding for Lending Scheme figures. Santander is launching a new package of non-financial support for SMEs as part of the bank's commitment to help 5,000 more businesses expand internationally in 2015. Santander's new Breakthrough Moments Box will offer companies access to free master classes, seminars and round tables. The pop-up business surgery will visit key cities in the UK to connect businesses to experts and advice to help position them for growth and international expansion. Steve Pateman, head of UK banking at Santander, said: 'Santander is continuing to grow its support to British businesses and we are particularly pleased to work with so many of the nation's small companies as they are key to economic growth and a strong economy.'
