Samkar Acquires Preston Care Home Following Significant New Funding

Lancaster-based Samkar Limited is set to purchase Bridgeway following a £962,500 funding package from Santander Corporate & Commercial

Lancaster-based Samkar Limited is set to purchase Bridgeway, a care home in Preston for adults with learning and physical disabilities, following a £962,500 funding package from Santander Corporate & Commercial. 

Sabe and Robert Connor, a married couple, are both directors and shareholders of Samkar. They currently own and operate a six-bed care home – Holywell Home – for adults with learning disabilities in Morecambe. In addition, Holywell Domiciliary Care Services supports people to live independently in the community in Blackburn, Lancaster, Morecambe and Preston, from offices in Morecambe and Preston. 

Sabe Connor has previously worked for Lancashire County Council and Cumbria County Council as a Social Worker. Sabe has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities Studies specialising in Dementia. She is a practising independent social worker and DoLS assessor under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. 

The funding package will provide for the acquisition and refurbishment of Bridgeway Care Home in Preston, which provides accommodation for 27 adults with learning and physical disabilities and offers high quality person centred care based on respect for the residents.
