Record car sales raise hopes for 2016

British Car, Record Sales Raise Hopes for 2016 - Santander UK

More new cars were registered in Britain last year than ever, beating the previous annual record set during the Blair-Brown boom in 2003. With demand for fast-changing auto technologies still hot, another record could be established in 2016. Figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show that new car sales comfortably beat the 2.58 million set 12 years ago and are expected to have grown by 6% to more than 2.6 million. Last year the Ford Fiesta was Britain's most popular car accounting for over 5% of all new motors sold.
