Notts sauce maker stirs up £4m expansion

An £18m-turnover sauce manufacturer in Nottinghamshire has secured a £4m funding package from Santander to increase production and hire additional staff. Jigsaw Foods, which operates from a facility in Shirebrook, used the cash injection to build an additional production unit. It is also expanding in the US market after investing 'significantly' to establish a subsidiary in the country to support one of its key clients. Finance and operations director Nick Angus said: 'The deal in North America represents a very exciting opportunity for the firm, and the support from Santander has been instrumental to this. The funding facility will also allow us to negotiate more beneficial terms with existing suppliers – increasing profitability of the business.' Martin Brummitt, relationship director at Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: 'Jigsaw Foods has developed a clear strategy for growth, and we're delighted to be supporting this fantastic company as it expands further.'
