Santander Corporate & Commercial is strengthening its support for local businesses and extending its presence in Northern Ireland with the opening of a new Corporate Business Centre.
The move is part of Santander’s strategic plan to grow its presence across the UK and demonstrates its commitment supporting businesses in Northern Ireland. The opening follows significant growth by the Corporate and Commercial Banking team in Northern Ireland.
Relationship bankers at the new Corporate Business Centre in Belfast will continue to provide a bespoke relationship banking service to corporate and commercial customers with turnover above £250,000. Customers will be offered a full range of banking services, including international trade, asset finance, invoice finance, deposits, treasury, merchant services, cash management, real estate, supplier payments and term facilities.
The 16-strong team in Belfast is led by Peter Torrens, Regional Director for Northern Ireland. Alongside the new Belfast office, last year Santander opened a second Corporate Business Centre in Londonderry. Santander has increased lending to businesses across the UK by an average of 20% per year over the last four years.
Peter Torrens, Regional Director for Northern Ireland, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “We have more than doubled the Corporate team in the last 18 months, and our investment with the new Donegall Square East offices in the heart of the financial district of Belfast gives us the platform to continue to grow our business across the whole province. We look forward to continuing to work with our existing customers, their advisors, and helping new customers to grow and prosper.”
