New Aberdeen Centre to Boost Business Support

Santander Corporate & Commercial is strengthening its support for local businesses with the opening of a new Corporate Business Centre in Aberdeen

Santander Corporate & Commercial is strengthening its support for local businesses and extending its presence in Scotland with the opening of a new Corporate Business Centre in Aberdeen.

The move is part of Santander’s strategic plan to grow its presence across the UK and demonstrates its commitment to the region’s businesses following steady growth to establish a local presence across Scotland.

Relationship bankers at the new Corporate Business Centre in Aberdeen, which is located at 17 Carden Place, will provide a bespoke relationship banking service to corporate and commercial customers with a turnover above £250,000. Customers will be offered a full range of banking services, including international trade, asset finance, invoice finance, deposits, treasury, merchant recruitment, cash management and supplier payments.

The 12-strong team in Aberdeen is led by Graham Silcock, Regional Director for Scotland, and includes Jamie Ritchie, Senior Relationship Director; Derek Busby, Large Corporate Relationship Director; Barry Gibson, Director, Real Estate; and Robert Brechin, Business Development Director. The team will continue to grow with two additional hires expected in the short term, including an International Trade Director to enhance local access to Santander’s global network and expertise.   

Santander is focused on supporting businesses in Scotland and alongside the new Aberdeen office, it now has Corporate Business Centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness with more than 80 staff. Santander has increased lending to businesses across the UK by an average of 20% per year over the last four years.
