Midlands pharmacy group Secret Potions opens ninth store as part of £4.5m funding deal with Santander

Staffordshire-based regional pharmacy group Secret Potions has a five-year £4.5m funding package with Santander Corporate & Commercial which has allowed it to expand its growing operation across the region, with the opening of a new site in Brimington, near Chesterfield, the latest development. It is the ninth pharmacy operated by the family-run business, and creates 12 new jobs in the local area, taking Secret Potions' total workforce to more than 90. Santander's support has facilitated the opening six units over the past five years, expanding the number of branches by 300%. The funding has also allowed Secret Potions to install cutting-edge technology in each of its pharmacies, including a dispensing robot in one branch. Mike Gascoigne, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: 'Secret Potions has been a fantastic local success story and we are delighted to have helped them expand. The group has been benefitting local communities in which they are based for over 20 years and their rapid growth is down to their excellent business model.'
