Manuplas opens new facility to meet demand

Plymouth-based Manuplas has opened a new 50,000 sq ft unit on Estover Road in the city to cater for increased demand for its products, which include buoys and modular bow-fender systems for offshore windfarm service vessels. Advanced Insulation bought Manuplas in April 2014 with £850,000 of funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial. General manager Stephen Ward said extra space and additional manufacturing facilities will help to 'future-proof' the company, which has invested in developing new designs for fenders in response to the growth of the renewables industry.
