Luxury Newcastle hotel welcomes first guests

A luxury Newcastle hotel is welcoming its first guests after a multi-million pound regeneration project. The Vermont ApartHotel opened on Friday night, marking the revival of a building that had stood empty for many months on the Quayside before Gainford Hotels stepped in. The owners said advance bookings had been very strong, with all the apartments already sold out for its first weekend. A Gainford spokesman added: 'The team at Santander bank have been integral, allowing us to grasp this opportunity and make our vision for this property a reality. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them, and are tremendously thankful for their ongoing support.'
