Pound Coin - Companies are employing more under 25's ahead of the new living wage - SantanderCB

Manpower Group has revealed that UK companies are employing more under-25s ahead of the introduction of the living wage next month. The change will see older workers paid £7.20 an hour from April, but under-25s only qualify for £6.70 an hour. Firms are also said to be cutting overtime, bonus pay and bank holiday rates in a bid to control their wage bills. Manpower said firms hiring staff have hit a nine-year high, despite concerns about a Brexit, with 7% more companies planning to take on workers, rather than cut back in the next three months
