Leicester uni renews partnership with Santander

Students - Santander increases funding to the University of Leicester - SantanderCB

Santander Universities UK is increasing its funding to the University of Leicester so that the value of its partnership over the next three years increases to £300,000.

The money will help support over 400 students through postgraduate scholarships, travel awards, summer schools for pupils from local schools, and an annual creative writing lecture.

The funding now includes 10 £1,000 Enterprise Awards for student start-up initiatives.

Robin Foale, Managing Director, Santander Universities UK, said: 'Our partnership with the University of Leicester has exceeded all the expectations that we had when we originally signed our first agreement six years ago.

The focus of our funding has evolved over the years to ensure that we support the university community right where it is most needed.

Entrepreneurship and internationalisation are both high on Leicester's agenda and we are delighted to be able to assist the University in these key areas.'
