Law giant still mantains its close ties to English firm

Scottish law firm HBJ Gateley, which advised Santander on the refinancing of English care home group Handsale, has said will maintain close ties with English counterpart Gateley plc since it floated on the Alternative Investment Market earlier this year. HBJ was not able to join the listing because there is no equivalent system north of the border to allow legal firms to obtain external investment. HBJ also announced it increased interim turnover from £3.2m to £3.7m, with the real estate practice particularly buoyant in the six months to the end of November.
