Bridgend-based JH Apsee and Sons, a leading commercial and residential removals and storage firm in the South Wales region, is to purchase an additional warehouse to cope with high demand for storage solutions from existing and new customers following funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.
Established in the 1960s, JH Apsee is a family run firm initially set up as a sole trader with one removal van. Fifty years on, and now in its fourth generation of the Apsee family, the business has become one of the most respected residential and commercial removal firms in Bridgend and the surrounding areas of Porthcawl and Cowbridge.
In particular, the funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial will allow the business to purchase a new facility in the Penybont Industrial Estate and allow them to expand the service the firm provides. Among its many clients, JH Apsee works closely with the council and other local businesses.
Rhodri Apsee, Operations Manager, JH Apsee and Sons, said: “We are proud that the business has carried on for four generations of our family and is still going strong. The support from Santander has been excellent; they have taken the time to fully understand our business model and requirements as a family business. I am confident the additional warehouse will help us expand and safeguard the business for the fifth generation.”
Ashley Charlton, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to assist Rhodri and the Apsee family enter the next phase of growth. This is a fantastic example of a local business which has survived and prospered through generations and I am fully confident the funding will only allow them to grow further.”
