Hunnyhill Stores Secures £1Million in Funding for more Isle of Wight Stores

Isle of Wight-based Hunnyhill Stores Group, the island’s largest Spar-branded convenience store franchise with more than 120 employees, is set to expand its retail operation further, having secured £1 million in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Isle of Wight-based Hunnyhill Stores Group is set to expand its retail operation further, having secured £1 million in funding from SCCB.
A true family run business, Hunnyhill Stores is operated by husband and wife John and Jean Perrett, their daughter Amanda and her partner John Ward. Established 15 years ago, the business has grown its franchise from one initial outlet to a current total of 14 sites – and is currently ranked among the top 50 independent retailers in the UK. The firm also promotes and sells local produce as well as baking its own produce on some of their sites.
The funding package from Santander will enable Hunnyhill Stores Group to open a number of new sites over the next two years, providing further job opportunities within the local community. The group has also been in talks with the Post Office to include more branches within their stores.
John Perrett, Managing Director, Hunnyhill Stores Group, said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to successfully grow our retail business over the past 15 years. I’m certain that with the support from Santander Corporate & Commercial, we will be able to substantially grow our retail franchise further and continue to serve the local community.”
Debbie Bransom, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “We are thrilled to be able to contribute to Hunnyhill Stores’ growth on the Isle of Wight. The business has contributed enormously to the local community, and the expansion of its retail operation will only add to its success. We are very excited to be working with John and the team.”
