Huddersfield-Based Recruitment Firm Expion to Expand Significantly Following Funding Deal with Santander

Huddersfield-based Expion, an award-winning recruitment firm focused on the manufacturing, engineering and commercial sectors, plans to grow the number of its office locations from three to five and further increase the number of staff in its established locations, following a six-figure funding deal with Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Huddersfield-based Expion, plans to grow the number of its office locations from three to five and further increase the number of staff in its established locations, following a six-figure funding deal with SCCB.

Established in 2010, Expion has registered revenue growth of around 100% each year. The firm’s exacting focus on service, market knowledge and candidate selection has seen Expion quickly establish an extremely strong and broad client base – the firm was voted ‘Best Recruiter Overall’ at the prestigious RecruitRank Awards 2011, for instance, and counts the likes of Nestle, Advanced Medical Solutions, Princes, Johnson & Johnson and Arla as key clients.

Building on this success, Expion is to use the new funding support from Santander Corporate & Commercial to open up to two further offices in the UK, in addition to growing headcount at its established locations in Huddersfield, Leeds and Silverstone. Expion’s three-year plan also includes increasing staff numbers to in excess of 50 and growing turnover above £10 million.

James Didgiunaitis, Director, Expion, said: “The growth of Expion over the past five years has been exceptional, and it has been great to be part of such a successful, fast-growth business. We are always looking to grow Expion further and the support from Santander Corporate & Commercial will be fundamental to our future three-year growth strategy.”

Linda Greenwood, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support the management team at Expion as they capitalise on the achievements of the business and look to grow the firm’s network even further. They have developed a strong formula for success and, with a clear plan for continued growth, I’m sure they will take Expion to the next level.”
