Blackburn-based GS Social Care Solutions is set to expand its operations after receiving £250,000 in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Blackburn-based GS Social Care Solutions, a leading family-run social care business, is set to expand its operations after receiving £250,000 in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

GS Social Care Solutions provides support and care to a broad range of client groups, including working with toddlers and children to set boundaries; helping adults and children suffering from learning difficulties; complex health care; Autistic Spectrum Disorders; Dementia (including early onset and other associated conditions); ADHD; and a range of physical disabilities and mental health needs.

Following a sustained period of growth, the company has purchased an old church building in Great Harwood for redevelopment and plans to hire more staff to cater for its growing client base. The new premises will serve as a fully inclusive community centre for all ages and abilities.

The business was founded in 2006 by Dorothy and Glyndwr Gould with their three daughters, Danielle, Faye and Ashleigh. GS Social Care Solutions currently has 11 full and part-time staff, with plans to increase this further by the end of 2014. The business also has the support of over 90 part-time community workers.

Dorothy Gould, MD and Registered Manager of GS Social Care Solutions, said: “We are delighted to be able to expand our business and, with the knowledge and experience we have of the local market, we are confident the expansion will be very successful. The team at Santander has been fully supportive of the purchase and development and their input has allowed our business to provide further care for those in real need of our support.”

Kevin Gribbin, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “Santander is delighted to be able to support UK businesses such as GS Social Care Solutions, which provides an important and valuable service to local families.
