Golf supports almost 15,000 jobs in Scotland, according to a report funded by the sport's administrative body, the R&A. Golfers in Scotland spent £861m in 2014, up from £636m three years before. The gross value of golf to the Scottish economy was £409m in 2014. Scotland has 21% of UK golf clubs and takes a 23% share of golf-related tourism. Scotland's hosting of the Ryder Cup in 2014 and the opening of the Trump International golf links in Aberdeenshire have supported the growing contribution of the sport.
