At Santander's recent Breakthrough Festival at Cardiff Castle, Robin Davies, Santander's regional director for Wales, explained how Santander's Breakthrough programme can help SMEs looking to expand and export. Davies outlined various aspects of Breakthrough including the Breakthrough Finance package of tailored growth capital support. Under the Breakthrough Talent scheme, Santander is aiming to put 2,000 interns from UK universities into SMEs this year. The bank also aims to help 5,000 SMEs expand internationally through the Breakthrough International programme. Santander also runs trade missions for companies and provides support for exporters through its Trade Club and International Desk resources.
