Glass Machinery Solutions LTD opens new showroom following funding from Santander

Rugby-based Glass Machinery Solutions Ltd (GMS), one of the leading distributors of hi-tech glass processing machines, after-sales care, spare parts and consumables in the UK and Ireland, has moved to larger premises and opened its new Showroom & Technology Centre following £240,000 in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Founded in 2010 by Richard Gerrard and Paul Goodman, GMS is an official distributor for leading global brands such as Bavelloni, Glaston, Forvet, HOAF, Techni Waterjet, Dip-tech and Forza G. The firm holds exclusivity agreements with its manufacturing partners, with GMS undertaking the sourcing, installation and servicing of all supplied machines to its UK and Irish client base. In an indication of the success of the business, GMS has seen revenues grow 49% across the two-year period to the end of FY2015.

With the funding from Santander helping renovate and develop its new property, including the purchase of additional machinery and the new showroom, GMS will be hosting its first open day to the public across 22-26 May. The fully functional demonstration centre will allow the business to offer open days, machine demonstrations, training courses and in-house machinery refurbishments.

Paul Goodman, Director, Glass Machinery Solutions Ltd, said:

“The business is now firmly established in our core markets and the time is right to invest for growth. We believe GMS can capitalise on the strong momentum it has developed and expand further, particularly as demand for our services is at a record high. We have been extremely impressed with the levels of service and professionalism from Santander and the support we have received has most certainly been instrumental in helping us achieve our goal of having the first fully operational glass processing showroom in the UK.”

Raphael Reith, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said:

“We’re delighted to be able to support Richard, Paul and the rest of the GMS team as they look to invest in the business. What is very exciting is the focus on opening up their facilities via the showroom to the public and embracing the need to showcase their excellence.”
