A Gilligan (Coatings) Ltd to build new factory to cater for strong demand

New Factory

Birmingham-based A Gilligan (Coatings) Ltd, one of Britain's most successful polishers and platers of metals and anti-corrosion specialists, is to build a new factory, invest in new equipment and hire more staff following £350,000 in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial. Based at its current site in the heart of Birmingham since 1989, the firm counts British Gas, Siemens, Black & Decker, Mitsui, Ford and Jaguar Land Rover as key clients. The funding from Santander will assist in the purchase of land adjacent to the current site, and the company will construct a new factory unit on the land. Michael Durkin, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: 'The history of this business is testament to the family's ability to adapt and expand as needed and we are confident the new purchase will provide plenty of room for growth and give the business scope to expand further.'
