Far East dining to help revive Quayside appeal

Financial support from Santander has helped North-East business Gainford Group invest significant funds into creating a new Japanese-style bar and restaurant on Newcastle Quayside. The firm has already ploughed several million pounds into former offices on Sandhill, converting the property into the boutique Vermont Aparthotel, creating 100 jobs from the construction stage through to recruiting hotel staff. The new Aveika bar will mark the completion of the regeneration project.
