The CBI/Pearson Education and Skills survey found that 74% of companies in the engineering, science and hi-tech sector were in need of highly skilled workers to support their growth plans. In the survey of 310 UK companies, the engineering, science and hi-tech sector had the highest demand for skilled workers, followed closely by construction (73%) and manufacturing (69%).
