Edgmond Foods Expands into Larger Premises to Cater for Increased Demand

Shropshire based Edgmond Foods has expanded its manufacturing capacity to cater for increased demand following significant funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Shropshire based Edgmond Foods, a leading specialist in the manufacture of chilled and frozen products has expanded its manufacturing capacity to cater for increased demand following significant funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial. 

Established in 1990 by Nigel Payne, the family run business employs over 100 people and produces chilled and frozen quiches, tarts and frittatas for retail and foodservice markets nationwide. 

The new funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial has been used to purchase additional plant and equipment, and provide further working capital. It has also been used to lease further office space to relocate the administrative offices to Edgmond Foods’ manufacturing site.

Nigel Payne, Managing Director, Edgmond Foods, said: “Since its foundation, the business has gone from strength to strength. The expansion into new premises will allow us to increase output, concentrate on new markets and increase capacity across our quiche and tarts range, both of which have experienced significant growth.”
