Economic growth of 2.2% in 2015 failed to meet IMF estimates

Growth Charts, Economic Growth of 2.2% in 2015 - Santander UK

The National Institute of Economic and Social Research thinktank has delivered an early estimate that the UK economy grew by 2.2% in 2015. This would be slower than 2014's 2.9% expansion, but Niesr was positive, saying it 'remains consistent with the economy growing at close to its long-run potential rate'. Niesr said the end of the year appears to have seen reasonable growth, which it calculates at 0.6% between October and December, up from 0.4% between June and September.
