Confidence at three year high but 58% of contractors have had to turn work away

ECIS has produced its third annual health check for the UK construction industry, finding the highest level of confidence amongst contractors and tradespeople in three years. Some 48% of respondents said they were confident about the coming year, nut 41% said they were under rising pressure to fulfil contracts. Most found they were working longer hours, but 58% said they had to turn down work, and 38% had resorted to unskilled labour in order to complete contracts.
