Cinema operator The Light eyes expansion

Different Magazine interviewed Keith Pullinger, co-founder of independent cinema operator The Light about expansion plans for the business, which aims to offer an arthouse cinema-style experience in a commercial multiplex setting. The Light has been supported by a £5.2m commitment from Connection Capital plus £4.5m of funding from the Santander Corporate & Commercial Breakthrough programme which provides growth capital to UK businesses. The investment has been used to acquire a nine-screen cinema in Cambridge from Cineworld. The Light is also due to open further sites in Bolton, Sheffield, Dundee, Thetford, Stockport and Walsall. The company is also looking at another 25 locations and hopes to open cinemas it at least five of these.
