Charles Garfit on supporting manufacturers

Charles Garfit, Head of Manufacturing, Santander Corporate and Commercial, writes in Midlands Business Insider: 'This is a crucial time for the UK manufacturing sector. With growth still largely dominated by services industries and consumption, policymakers of all political persuasions have agreed that expansion of the manufacturing sector will play a vital role in balancing the UK economy.' Garfit says Santander is committed to supporting small and medium-sized manufacturers, with a goal of lending an additional £500m to the sector. The bank is also providing practical assistance through its online international Trade Portal, funded Trade Missions, and the Santander Passport Service which offers international banking services for SMEs along with regional and local masterclasses and workshops.
