Business investment boost for Britain

Figures from the Office for National Statistics reveal an increase in UK business investment with companies spending £46.5bn between January and March - up 2% on the previous three months and 5.7% more than in the first quarter of last year. This followed an 8% rise in business investment in 2014 to £180.5bn - the biggest increase since 2007. The ONS also recorded a 4.5% rise in disposable incomes between the first quarter of 2014 and the first quarter of 2015. This is the fastest rise since 2001.
