Banking on success as giant plans new office

Santander has confirmed the opening of a new £400,000 corporate office in Lincoln, which will be situated in the Cornhill alongside an expected new base for the Card Factory chain, as the area continues to be boosted by new businesses. Stephen May, relationship director in Lincoln for Santander Corporate and Commercial Banking, said their move would create jobs and help businesses dealing in key areas, such as exports. He said: 'We anticipate an increase in staff members - as customers come on board we will increase our capacity accordingly. Lincoln completes our coverage in the East Midlands, where we hope to increase our coverage'. Santander's new site is due for completion in the week commencing Monday, October 5, with an open office day on October 22. It joins the bank's existing corporate centres in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire following increasing demand.
