Aberaeron-based Compton Cymru Cyfyngedig has opened a new, state-of-the-art showroom and training facility at Y Bont, Aberaeron, for its Cantre Mobility division following a £500,000 funding package from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

17 November 2015 – Aberaeron-based Compton Cymru Cyfyngedig, a family-run supplier of garden machinery and mobility and disability equipment throughout Wales, has opened a new, state-of-the-art showroom and training facility at Y Bont, Aberaeron, for its Cantre Mobility division following a £500,000 funding package from Santander Corporate & Commercial. The opening of the new building has coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Cantre Mobility business.

The re-location to the new premises is the next phase of expansion for the company, which provides equipment and undertakes servicing and repairs to the general public, local authorities, nursing and residential homes throughout the whole of Wales. Notable clients include Ceredigion County Council, Carmarthenshire County Council, Pembrokeshire County Council, Family Housing Association (Wales) Ltd, Gwalia Housing, Coastal Housing, and Powys Local Health Board.

The new building, which has undergone a comprehensive 12-week renovation, will enable customers to view and test the latest mobility aids and equipment while the new training facility will give staff the opportunity to provide demonstrations on the safe use of the firm’s specialist products and equipment. Since the move to the new premises, three people have been recruited and another position has recently been filled.

Sion Evans, Operations Manager, Cantre Mobility, said: “Cantre Mobility is benefitting from strong growth and this expansion is tangible evidence of our continued aspirations in our target market. We believe we offer clients and customers an unparalleled level of product and service, and the funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial comes at a key time in the history of this fantastic company.”

Kevin Nicholas, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “The company aspires to be the first choice for anyone in Wales requiring mobility equipment and associated services, and is targeting more service contracts with local health boards, local authorities, housing associations, care homes and private customers.
