Nursery acquisition is child’s play thanks to Santander funding
An experienced early years practitioner in Devon has secured the future of a local nursery by acquiring the business in addition to their current premises.
An experienced early years practitioner in Devon has secured the future of a local nursery by acquiring the business in addition to their current premises.
Rachel Howing-Nicholls is a highly qualified early years practitioner who has owned and operated Millswood Nursery School as a sole trader since 2010. Millswood is a leasehold OFSTED Outstanding rated setting, trading on a term-time only basis from its current premises in Ivybridge since 1982.
Woodlanders, established 1992, is an OFSTED Outstanding registered day care provider and member of the National Day Nursery Association and Devon County Council Early Years Partnership. Open from 8 am to 6 pm for 51 weeks of the year, it caters for children in the 0-5 years age range.

Rachel already owns a nearby Ofsted rated Outstanding nursery (Millswood Nursery School), and has a real passion for the sector and early year’s education. Santander remain keen to support experienced and successful operators in the Children’s Day Nursery sector.
The acquisition will secure the jobs of the nursery staff as well as the future of the nursery, which was previously operated by a charity.
