Hot tub company makes waves to reach international waters

Wave Direct

Wave Direct

Trading since 2017, Wave Direct import leisure products, including hot tubs and jacuzzis, from China which they then sell to the UK and Europe. Employing 50 people, they’re now looking to diversify their business to sell paddle boards, kayaks and e-bikes.

As Wave Direct import their products from China to sell directly to consumers, they needed support to accommodate for seasonal demand. Santander supported with funding that enabled them to build up stock levels ahead of the spring and summer peak.

Santander were very positive about wanting to support Wave Direct, which was refreshing to hear from a bank. They’ve done a good job to get a facility which allows us to continue our growth in the UK and develop further into new markets such as the US and EU.

CEO, Wave Direct Limited

Moving their banking to Santander alongside the support allows them to focus on their international growth strategy, starting with a soft launch in the USA and increasing their advertising presence across Europe.

The seismic growth achieved by Wave Direct is a credit to Dan and Tom’s drive and passion.

We are delighted to further support their evolution by providing trade finance facilities that will allow them to further enhance their international growth plans.

Overall, we’re delighted to be part of this journey and once again highlights the level of entrepreneurial talent in the North East.
