International Success

Whether you’re taking your first steps towards international growth or looking to expand internationally, we’re here to help.

At Santander Corporate and Commercial, we have solutions that give you access to diverse sources of global information, contacts, and the expertise you need to fulfil your international ambitions.

We’ve created a package of tools that takes you through every step of international trade and export, from initial research to global success. This range of services goes above and beyond traditional banking services and can help you on a path to successful international growth.

5 key stages to international growth

Step 1 - Exporting

Gain a valuable insight and find the right markets, key partners and local information to help you start or expand your global presence, through our free, market-leading online resource the Santander Trade Portal.

This innovative database has contact details for over 100,000 global importers, 60,000 suppliers, 40,000 trade shows, and over a million public and private sector tender opportunities.

Note: Full access to the Trade Portal is available to Santander Corporate & Commercial Online Banking customers. If you are not an Online Banking customer then some parts of the site will be restricted.

Step 2 – Connectivity

As one of the world’s largest banks we have a global footprint of almost 14,000 branches, more than any other international bank. This means we can offer local expertise in all of our key markets, including Europe and the Americas.  And, through our affiliations, we have a major presence in exciting markets like Asia. So we can help you find the local support you need.

Santander has an experienced International Desk team, operating in each of our 14 global markets. They’re dedicated to helping both UK customers who want to grow their business overseas and foreign companies who want a presence in the UK.

Step 3 – Growth

Access a range of financial solutions to help your international trade plans succeed. We can help you every step of the way by offering working capital solutions. This includes Trade Cycle Finance and Foreign Exchange Risk Management. Find out more about our international solutions

In addition to these, our links with the International Chamber of Commerce can help up-skill your business on key aspects of international trade.

Step 4 - Establish abroad

Get the help you need to make exporting, importing, and overseas investment simpler with the Santander Passport.

This free, specialist service can help establish and strengthen global relationships with key international clients. It is designed specifically for international businesses that have large international trade flows and/or subsidiaries in other countries where Santander is present. With the Passport, Santander will give you access to valuable information and local contacts to help you set up in a new country.

Note: The Santander Passport is aimed specifically at Santander customers with subsidiaries in other countries where Santander is present and/or customers with high value or large growth potential in their international activity.

In order to deliver the service commitments to you, we will need to exchange information about the different companies that make up your business with the Santander banking network. The provision of a Santander Passport is subject to your business and your subsidiaries providing written consent to the exchange of information between the Santander Group.

Step 5 - Global connections

We’ll give you access to new contacts so you can network, share ideas, pitch projects, and launch joint ventures.

That’s why we created the Santander Trade Club. It’s an online community of importers and exporters and offers potential access to around 5 million of the Santander Group’s business customers from across the globe. Our Trade Club will give you the opportunity to meet, learn, and do business with companies of your choice.

Note: Companies must have Santander Corporate & Commercial Online Banking to access the Santander Trade Club.
